Who we are

This privacy policy applies to the Android app Hueyear: Life Calendar & Mood (formerly Year Life Wallpaper, package com.yearlife.livewallpaper), published on Google Play by the developer Tech Update. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Tech Update, and “Hueyear” or “the app” means this app.

The short version

Hueyear works entirely on your phone. We have no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Your moods, notes, habits, dates, photos and calendar information never leave your device. The same is true for free and Pro users.

What the app stores, on your phone only

Your wallpaper settings (theme, layout, text you type).
Dates you enter, such as a birth date, goal dates or special dates.
Moods and notes you log in the journal.
Habits you set up and tick off (for example glasses of water or a workout). These are simple taps you log yourself. Hueyear does not read Health Connect, Google Fit or any sensor.
A copy of a photo you choose as background, kept in the app’s private storage.
If you connect a calendar: the names and dates of all-day events (like birthdays and holidays) from the calendars you pick.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it from the phone.

Android backup

If you have Android’s own backup switched on, Android can include your settings, moods, habits and notes in your personal Google backup, so they come back when you set up a new phone. That backup belongs to your Google account and is encrypted by Android; we cannot see or access it. Photos are not included in the cloud backup. You can turn backup off in your phone’s settings.

Permissions and why

Set wallpaper: to put Hueyear on your home and/or lock screen.
Run at startup: to keep a still lock-screen wallpaper up to date after a restart.
Notifications (optional, Android 13+): only for the daily check-in, water reminders and the 9 AM special-day note, each switched on by you. They are scheduled on the phone; there are no push servers.
Alarms & reminders (optional, Android 12+): so the check-in arrives on the minute you picked.
Calendar, read only (optional): only if you tap “Connect calendar”, to show birthdays, holidays and festivals on your wallpaper. We never write to your calendar, and the data is never uploaded.

Home-screen widget

The widget is drawn on your phone from the same data as the wallpaper. Nothing is sent anywhere to show it.

Images you export

When you save or share your wallpaper or a journal month as an image, it goes only to the gallery folder or app you choose. We never receive a copy.

Purchases

Hueyear Pro is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your card or payment details.

Children

Hueyear collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
